How to keep cool in the summer

Do you wonder how does one keep cool at night? Here we share some tips that will help improve your sleep

1 – Drink cool liquids

              Drinking cool liquids such as water or iced tea can help lower your body temperature, experts consider normal body temperature to be around 37ºC. Taking regular intake of cold fluids can also help hydration, which ultimately will keep your body heat down.

2 – Apply cold water to certain points of the body

              Taking a cold shower, or having a lukewarm bath will decrease your body temperature. Don’t have time or the energy to have a shower? By applying cold water or ice to strategic body points will also help reduce any warmth flowing through your body. To feel cooler, apply to your wrists, neck, temples, feet – where the veins are more visible.

3 – Move less, count sheep

              By moving more or exercising, you are creating energy. Physical endurance just before you go to bed will raise your body temperature. The body releases heat when you move, so on a hot summers’ day plan any exercises/gym accordingly.

4 – Wear breathable, lighter clothing

              Sunlight and heat passes easily through some fabrics more than others. Natural fabrics such as linen and cotton, allow the heat to escape more easily than fabrics such as wool and nylon. Choice of clothing during the day is a must to keep cool (especially in the summer).

In summary, rising temperatures around the world, health conditions can make it a challenge for a person to maintain a normal body temperature (37ºC).

As mentioned above, these are some of the techniques you could use to stay cool. Avoid staying in the sun for long periods, limit movement, appropriate clothing along with staying hydrated, having fruit and vegetables will help you sleep well.
